Such cases are deported after serving punishment in UAE. Help UAE maintain standards by reporting.

it is healthy for society as a whole for people holding bogus degrees to be stripped of their "proffessional status" and in the case of Dubai and the UAE be deported. I have a question: how on earth could such bogus degree holders get the emirates ID with their "degrees".

I would report to the police, but would I do that if the person in question is my best friend????? Maybe not, UNLESS he is a doctor or architect. Imagine if the architect of Burj Dubai had a fake degree Surprise

call me a b**** but i wouldn't hesitate to report the criminal, BOTH to the company where she/he is employed AND to the police, to make sure we don't have that in society

I agree with barrym, unless he/she is a doctor or architect or something similar, I wouldn't care. aren't the companies supposed to check these things?

The important reason behind these bogus is that the companies are not verifying the degree and moreover some companies are not bothered in it. it should be made mandatory for all companies to verify the degree stated by job applicants before or shortly after employing. Apart from that the UAE authorities should make verification compulsory once a person lands in dubai for employment if his passport has got the ECNR status. The passport carries the emmigration status through which also a person affirms that he holds a valid degree certificate. Even if the person on the course of his stay in uae obtains additional qualifications and as soon as it is stated in his cv, it should be subject to verification. Law is silent in these issue which encourages bogus degree holders to make fool of the society. Even for the Emirates ID, degree holding expats should be verified and issued a ID that will be in a different color or with category such as A or B or C which makes everyone understand that he is a degree holder. WILL THE UAE AUTHORITIES TAKE THIS ISSUE SERIOUSLY before issuing the ID cards and upkeep its social security.

It's not the Dubai government's job to check my CV. My company should verify it, and if they do not bother, it means that the degree doesn't matter that much in that particular, for example for an IT professional the degree is not really very important as long as he/she can do the job, and it will be obvious he/she does his/her job well.
To have my degree on my Emirates ID card sounds funny.

It's too much to ask the government to police CVs and degrees, unless as barrym said it's about a really responsible, life-saving, life-destroying job, like medical staff, architects, civil engineers working on safety precautions in the Dubai metro, etc.

I selected the option other things to do!, First of all making bogus degree and get employed and " Work for longer is impossible."

All technical jobs cannot allow an unskilled person because in few days he/she will not be able to perform his job and get fired.

Admin/support/customer services/telemarketing etc these jobs are not based on their degree qualification than their communication, IT and personality attributes. Therefore, these professional may forge the degree and get employed and even company does not need to go in too much depth.

Arichtect/Doctors/MBAs/engineers/Pilots etc should have high level of scruitiny.

UAE Govt. had started degree verification and later they have stopped it. It is esstional to appreciate those have worked to get the degrees and discourge the others.

I would cousel the person first because nobody can run away in seconds from UAE.Then decide the action.
