These days every city / town is catching popularity. Dubai is no exception, migration is heavy and so the living and business too. how a place is, it all depends on the governing body with strict rules and enforcement. for now,just according to me, dubai will be a center of the world attracting lots of business and people for the next atleast 5-6 years. as long as safety is concerned, its safe and custody if u have a good job /business with restricted personal activities.
Why restricted personal activities vaidhee? What do you mean? You would
be safe in Dubai if you don't engage in persoanl activities? What are
they anyway?
no doubt dubai is a wonderful place to life with personal activities if restricted. i meant to say the following. 1. women are regarded great and u need to respect them under any circumstances. 2. there is zero tolerance limit for drunk and drive. 3. new trafffic system comes with black point marking and can go upto revocation of license if driving is not accorinding to rules. and many more like this from simple to complicated issues.
in all aspects, ignorance of law is no excuse. if you abide by the rules here, this is a great place to live and enjoy. hope the points are clear.

Which personal activities are you pointing out? I think most of people prefer Dubai as free and safe place of recreation and work. A place where you can work like Donkey and enjoy like Monkey!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dubai center of the world? well... that's difficult to say. Believe me but there ARE people who do not know where it is. Still, there lots and lots who DO KNOW and usually associate it with glamour and luxury, the tallest building, the only 7-star hotel (although what about Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi?), Tiger Woods playing golf on the helipad of Burj Al Arab, horse racing for the super rich etc. etc.
So maybe it's too farfetched to say it would be the center of the world, but surely one of the centers. Surely a city to be modelled on in other parts of the Middle East
In my opinion, at least from the financial point of view, Dubai is the new hub...And if we are to look to the actual situation of the rest of the world...Dubai becomes the center...YES...it is highly expensive and has scarce real estate resources and yet poor infrastracture...but give it 2 years, top, and u'll see...The only problem remaining, form my point of view, is the dollar peg currency...But I have a filling thet something is going to be changed here as well...
So, watch Dubai and u'll see...
I thought Dubai World Center is the name of a building until I read further down. Dubai can be safe so long as the authorities put forth the necessary effot to keep it that way. They are in control and they know how to make things happen
