i know of a case where a company uses HSBC with a business account. A person resigned and was due 20,000 AED for leaving - gratuity or whatever its called, some accrued payments, unused holidays, etc.
HSBC transferred 20,000 USD into his account instead of AED from the company account.
The guy left the UAE on next day flight. Nobody knows anything about him since that poitn. The company is still trying to convince HSBC to return the difference back to their account.

Incredible, yea?

Mashreq Bank is offering a yearly 5.5% interest on their Easy Saver accounts. (You can also get saving certificates from them worth 1,000 dirhams. These certificates bear no interest but offer you a chance to win a million dirhams every month.)
