Folks, I have a 18 hour transit stay in Dubai on my to Pakistan from London ...
I would like to do some general shopping (shampoos, creams, etc) from Dubai and some of my friends told me the Dubai airport authorities will not allow any liquids especially for transit travellers like me.
I will be flying with Emirates ... any ideas?

Your friends are right The airport rule as to liquids in hand baggage apply on flights to/from Dubai as well. You can take the shampoos and all that in your checked-in baggage, but not in your hand luggage.you will be in in transit,so your luggage will be checked through from London to Lahore, YOU WONTT HAVE YOUR BAGS IN DUBAI to put your poos

as far as I know if someone purchase liquids from Dubai Airport Duty Free, then they give you in SEALED envelopes and the authorities deliver the things directly only at boarding time.. you can buy from Dubai Duty Free
18 hours is enough time, you can go out shop till you drop and check in again and put the things you bought as checked luggagge
