So I have an entire semester off from college? What should I do? I was thinking of going home but I dont really feel like facing my family (i know im bad) so thats out. I want to make a list of things to do and do them one by one.
So far my list is:
1) going camping with friends in Fujairah
2) trekking from Ajman to Umm al Qawain( dont ask why )
3) driving to Salala, oman
.. so far I've done only #2.
any help is appreciated thanx

Go on a desert safari, go to wild wadi, soak up the sun on jumeriah's beautiful beaches, visit jebel hafeet in al ain, especially at night, visit 360 at jumeriah beach hotel, a place to experience,

Basically, this is what you can do. Do what ever makes your heart happy. You don't really need other people who do not know you, or who do not know your personality, your likes or dislikes to suggest to you what you should do for vacation. If you don't want to go home for the whole semester, break your time up. You can do all the things you desire to do by prioritizing your desires. What do you want to do most? What are you feeling more compelled to do? What inspires you most? Be free. We only live once and while young, go treking, driving and camping. You should feel at peace with what ever decision you make for youself. Good luck. :)
I'll go for option 3 if i've got the time like you do.
I was there last year, got myself a rented car and drove around the region of Dhofar - mind-blowing landscapes, there's a good range of things to do if you're into the outdoor stuff. Just be sure you're self-sufficient before going into more remote places (yes, it could get more remote), bring along camping and snorkelling gears, a pair of binoculars would do wonders - there're plentiful of seabirds along the coast especially in Khor Rouri. Enjoy!
I'm envious.
Well Ive already been desert safaring and to tell u the truth i didnt like going with the agency. I prefer going with my friends and in our cars without any setup camp and thats also on the list but its something ive done before. Ive also climbed to the top of Jabal Hafeet and almost got shot by an emirati cop who was really really pissed off. Ive also been to RAK which i found really reaallly enjoyable, also Fujairah and Khorfakkan was very pleasant as well.
I want to check out 360 but Im not 21 :D . Also do I need any kind of visa if I drive to Oman? I'm an American citizen and I have a diplomatic residency in UAE but are the rules different for driving in as oppose to flying in? or do they just issue that good old 60 day visit visa thing?
thanx

Hi Mirza,
You can obtain an Omani visa on arrival at the land border. It's pretty straightforward requiring you to fill up a simple application form and a fee of 30 dirham, and you'll get a 28-day length of stay. Try to avoid public holidays when traffic is heavy at the border. You'd need to bring along the registration card of the vehicle you're travelling with.
Thanx
Yeah .. I would say - Salala all the way!
HI Mirza,
Did u go to salalah already? how did you like oman?
Go to home tell truth to your family and try to join study again. Safari, Salala, Zumerah will be there for rest of your life but your family will not remain forever.
God gifted you father and mother (I think so) make them happy. You will enjoy rest of your life.
Going here and there is just enjoyment for the moment after that your problem will be double.
Ilhak.
Dear Moderator,
Don't mean to offend anyone but I don't see how replies such as the above do anything positive to this board to be remained there.
I actually kinda liked the post above. We just have a person here (anonymous) who decided to preach what's good and what's not without knowing who Mirza (the poster of the forum thread) is (maybe there's a legitimate reason for Mirza not to want to face his parents, maybe they want to marry him for someone he doesn't like or worse ... hasn't seen, may be this maybe that.. we don't know).
Maybe the Anonymous guy didn't mean anything bad with what he wrote, but wanted to help Mirza, assuming that Mirza is the bad child who ran away from home. Freedom of expression, you know.
everyones entitled to their opinion no worries as long as your not spamming the boards with ads for Viagra :) im cool then.
