Sure but it doesnt make them better or know more about life or how to behave themself.
They can learn technology on their own, but who will teach them good manners and respect?
In general kids don't know more than their parents but they sometimes have a fresh perspective that comes from innocence and naivete. It can sometimes be wiser than the perspective of a person with experience, because of the bias experience comes with.
Give children some slack - if the situation demands it, they can be more grown up then we give'em credit for.
No matter how knowledgeable the children, their parents will always have something more than them - experience.
