is it my impression only or ogling (or staring and drooling...) at women is more frequent and intense in Dubai than in the West.
Sometimes i feel very uneasy here
(I put this topic in the Shoping Experiences category because it's usually shopping in Dubai's malls that I get this feeling.)

you mean mostly by the locals and the Indian workers? Indian workerssome of them worked here for 2 years, no wife no nobody living in abd conditions, so watching women is relaxation technique ha ha. Local's culture is mostly closed, and no mixture of girls and boys in schools, etc. so a lot of mystery is created so people become curious
Its cultural differences, mostly foreign workers in UAE coming from background & values which does not allow them to mix with girls.
They are frustrated and stare. its only matter of more staring or less. Even its common in west. Its becoz of attraction towards opposite sex.
Good point, good infidel, this feeling is especially intense everytime I travelled out and arrived at Dubai (and Manama) airport. The environment seems to be more charged here. Of course, the malls are the major spot for scouting and hunting for the 'shabab' besides the drive along Jumeirah or Dhiyafa road,
Possibly a demographic factor too besides the cultural one, there's probably a higher percentage of people in the age group of 20-35 (eligible and single) in Dubai compare to many other cities.
it's the same in all the gulf, not only Dubai. i was recently in Doha and noticed the same thing (of coarse i did not notice it as a "victim" since i am male but i did notice)
COME ON ... LOCALS R NOT WORKING IN MALLS HAHAHA :)
