how do I fire my maid?

heishy's picture

Our maid has annoyed me too much for me to keep her any longer. I am usually described as a relatively patient person, but apparently I also have my limits of tolerance. I wouldn't like to go into more details now, but just ask you ho can I go about firing her? She is under our sponsorship? What is the procedure to follow? The fees to be paid?
I would appreciate your comments. Thank you.

I know a little bit about maids, not from personal experience, coz we hadn't had one before we moved in, but I had researched the 'maid situation' in Dubai in a rather detailed fashion. So, I would say - you buy a ticket for her, then on the day of the flight talk to her and tell her se is going home. You wouldn't want her to get overly angry (her mood will definitely change, that's obvious, but hopefully not to extremes) and steal something while still at your house or cause any damage.

there are people losing jobs in Dubai, so there must be lot of good maids around, and you will find. don't feel too guilty if she really has not been good maid

why not speak with her nicely and say what bothers you. maybe she change

book the flight first and tell her at the latest moment possible/ make sure your husband is with you, as the sponsor he has to cancel the visa - there is no fee associated with canceling her visa / just in case bring her payment slips and labor contract in case Immigration officers ask you for them at the airport

DON'T tell her a day in advance (unless you want to stay up all night long) or she might run away.... she will still be under your sponsorship, don't foget
