I saw a video report by AFP (Agence France Presse) on Dubai's economy these days, and just wanted to share it with you.
Here's the link
From the report: Without much oil left to bolster its economy, Dubai has bet on real estate development and tourism to deliver foreign currency to the emirate. But its prime market - the international jetset and well-heeled travellers - is drying up in these hard times

did you see the Emirati guy shaking hands with the Indian labourers (most probably Indian, or other South Asian)???
This was just for the camera, I believe, coz from what i've seen nationals don't give a damn about labourers, and are very racist / looking down on poor Asians.
yeah, pathetic! and after shaking hands he raised his hand showing the construction to them... So fake!
how knows, by the time I manage to find a job there, Dubai enters the recession
no luck for me
shaking hands or not, it looks like the real estate business is in a slump.. let's wait for better times to come
The UAE constitution says the land belongs to the Rulers Did you all know that? The Rulers, may Allah protect them, decide who own and how uses land.
I never want to buy anything in the UAE coz i wil not be an owner - I will only think I am owener
dubai is not doing that bad as europe or amreica, and it will get even better,, we trust our wise leaders in their decisions
