Are people in Dubai friendly?

Forgive me the question, you have been quite friendly with me Smile.. I mean, the majority of people in Dubai, are they friendly, outgoing?

Most expats are friendly. But the locals, it seems to me, are not. They don't want to be bothered and have put on airs of arrogance, general rudeness and condescension...

I just finished working with arabs (incl. emiratis) on a project and, in fact, have been impressed with their friendliness. Of course, their driving is just beyond my comprehension... and also when they talk on their phones during movies ... really annoying.

oh, so true!!!!! talking on their mobile phones during movies, that drives me nuts!
and yes, some of them can be highly rude! But I beg to differ that all are rude and arrogant. Many of them are and many of them are not. I have met many friendly ones, and very helpful indeed. It's also that for many of them we (expats) are some sort of intruders.. remember only about 15-20% or less of Dubai's population is Emirati locals..
