If UAE Govt. announces to allow all nationalities to give immigration, how would it be? Do you happen to know if somebody got UAE citizenship?

What benefits would the people and government UAE get by giving out citizenship to others?

hi,

let me please say this to everyone. getting citizenship in
arab countries and generall in muslim countries is a bit different than
getting one in the west. these are not secular societies, and even if
you see democracy here, you will find only little secularism, that too
on the official level. deep down these people are practicsing muslims.

so
with citizenship comes responsibilities. with no offence, but if a
non-muslim is given citizenship, he has to know that he cannot say
anything about religion that migh seem freedom of expresson to the
sayer but as an offence to the muslim populace.

so one has to be very sensitive about the local culture, habits and religion to know them.

so i dont think giving out citizenships would be a good idea -- neither for the giver, nor for the receiver.

i agree to what khanalarab says. i know a fili. who has converted himself to the local religion but not sure how to be really in that religion. religion and culture are not small things and cannot be achieve perfection in just time. that has to be in the blood by birth according to me.

how can it be in the blood by birth, Vaidhee??? Nobody is born with his religion in the blood. Our parents told us that we are muslims or christians or hindus, etc.

But you're right that during the first formative years (0-16 or 18  years old, i guess) we 'get' our culture and religion and later it is more difficult to learn how to behave ina different culture. You can probably fake it a for some time, but it would very difficult.

hi Kavalas,

to me, for sure it is in the blood. the moment the child is born, its religion is known even before it starts crying. hope u get my point of view.

What's the benefit of getting citizenship in Dubai if it were allowd? The only difference i see is you can vote, but then in UAE you can;t vote, so why do you need it? Residence is enough for me

As i know is it for the last 6 years very difficult to get the emarati passport. Before 1999 was bit easy, but the new regulation it's changed already.Even for women married with locals they CAN'T get it 100% after the 10 years specific time given to her in order to proove that she will be a good wife...whatever...myself i would love to have that, but i know it's not possible at all Tongue there r some benefits in getting the nationality , not only for going to vote Smile

it's totally unnecessary to me, but look... if they can make it easy to get a permanent residence visa so I don't have to go through the renewal hassle every 3 years, it would be fantastic!!

i also don't need it. My EU passport is good enough.
