It's an awful, really awful topic but I think it is useful to know, so that we do not freak out about all sorts of things we need to remember like bank accounts, wills, insurance, etc. etc. From personal experience I know that I don't have all my wits together in case of a tragedy, so it would be prudent to know what t do exactly.

Have your wills translated into Arabic and have them attested. If you have kids, clearly state your wishes with regards to guardianship.
If you are in a mixed marriage, maybe it would be a good idea to go talk to a lawyer about how Sharia law affects your situation.
maybe this will be useful regarding making a will and registering it in Dubai

>>>life will go on...
ha ha I like you answer, danoah. I mean, yeah, why think of who's gonna inherit what, and the money in the banks and the properties here and back home and who knows where else.... there's some laws, procedures will be followed and life goes on.
Put some money in your children's accounts (in their names). You and your husband should have accounts in your own names, separate. Whatever properties you have, put (some of) them in the name of your children and your wife/husband and your mother and your father, and your wife's/husband's parents and whoever else you want, so that when you die the question Who gets what? will be mostly irrelevant, you will not have to go through the ugly scandals, and pay lawyers for stupid lawsuits, because .... everybody who has to have something WILL have it.
Also think what will happen if YOU die, dear Merikris? That's also a good question.
Peace.
