We are going to Qatar through Saudi next weekend and some people are scaring the hell out of my wife that she should be dressed in an Abaya, and even with gloves on lest her hands seduce a Saudi Arab!!
Can anyone here tell me what the requirements are? I have also heard that a headsscarf is all that's needed..
Thank you

As long as you don't go out of the airpor,t there is pretty much no need for even scarf. But if you are going out you will surely need an abaya. I haven't heard of any gloves on requirement.
we will be traveling by road, demmers. I guess it matters if somebody sees us and takes offence at the nice hair of my wife
By road or by air there is generally no requirement. But do ask your wife to dress modestly to avoid any confrontation. At least to have a scarf handy to cover her head
For the sake of a few dirhams, it would be silly not to wear a headscarf just for the peace of mind. The drive through Saudi Arabia is rather bleak and it takes only about an hour so the chances of running into someone who would take offence to the way your wife is dressed is negligible.
not required
