Hi there,
I am looking for someone to learn Arabic with in private lessons.
I am not looking for a beginner, but something between beginner and intermediate at the edge of being fluent.
Also, if there is a teacher out there or another student at more or less this level and looking for someone to practice, please email me at: rebeccagerth@yahoo.de.

We can communicate for this reason to know our communication skills, you reach me on Yahoo "soberstyle"
It is good to know that you have aprivate Arabic tutor. I am in Abu DHabi and am looking for arabic classes.I too can read and speak a little bit but would love to be good at it.
I am looking for a Basic Words [Arabic] Dictionary of about between 1,000-2,000 words. Is there anyone out there who has such a dictionary in Romanized [transliterated] arabic- English? I believe the existence and availability of such a Dictionary will make learning Arabic much, much easier for me and I believe for many others too!
Sammy
It is easily available in big bookshops. Such dictionaries are usually written by westerners. But thye are not as easy to use though. Arabic to English dictionaries or eng to ara have both a lot of words in them
I once happened to pick up a similar book from the Muscat airport.
Hi Sameer,
I guess you need something like this one:
English-Arabic Arabic-English Dictionary & Phrasebook
I have no idea if you can get this one in Kenya, but you can order it through amazon
Roopa, somebody posted addresses for Arabic lessons in Abu Dhabi

Hi all,
I'm currently doing my intermediate study in arabic language.
If a good arabic distionary is what you are looking for, I recommend Al-Mawrid dictionary. It is organized in root words.
There are two language out there. One is dialect (Amiyah and it depends from country to country) and one is Modern standard arabic(MSA). MSA is being used in news, politics and reading materials. If you go on the streets, Amiyah is what the locals are talking with.
Therefore, I recommend new students to learn MSA first and re-adpt to Amiyah when you are at a particular Arab country. It is easy to adapt this way.
Fyi, You may be talking in MSA, and the locals may understand but you may not understand their reply. It sort like learning 2 different language. Just to share my experience.
